Every Daily skipper is assessed on the water by marine professionals, with internationally recognised training available if you want it.
Qualified, extensive training options
All our training is delivered by marine professionals from the boating industry. We combine practical and theory education so your time on the water is both professional and fun.
You don't need a boating qualification to join Daily. Instead, every member's skipper completes a sea trial with us before their first booking.
Your free membership sea trial
When you join, we spend a couple of hours on the water with you to make sure you are comfortable, competent and safe on our Buccaneer boats.
It is an induction to the boat and its safety systems, along with an assessment of your boating ability. We cover:
Boat handling
Steering, trim and handling the Buccaneer at low speed and on the plane.
Anchoring
Using the windlass to anchor safely and retrieve the anchor.
Berthing
Leaving and returning to the marina berth with confidence.
Operational systems
Engine, electrics, chartplotter, VHF and the onboard toilet.
Safety
Lifejackets, EPIRB, flares, fire extinguishers and emergency procedures.
Refuelling
Refuelling at the marina fuel dock at the end of your day.
The sea trial must be completed before your membership begins. New to boating? You may want to do some training first.
Get certified
Our sister company Yacht Training offers internationally recognised IYT courses and private tuition, on a Daily boat or your own.
IYT Powerboat course
Takes you from beginner to fully certified. With a formal IYT certificate you can charter a powerboat anywhere in the world.
